Perhaps Chicago's Finest Suburban Location

Situated some 25 miles southwest of downtown Chicago, Peace Village offers residents tremendous convenience and an unparalleled quality of life. While Palos Park and its bordering communities of Palos Heights and Orland Park to the east and south all embrace a rich history, they have evolved into a few of Chicago’s most beautiful, active and thriving communities.

Palos Park

Secluded, wooded, beautiful, exclusive… all are appropriate words to describe the village that was incorporated in 1914 and home to an extensive roster of artists, writers and intellectuals by 1940. Quality education and pursuit of the arts continue to be hallmarks of Palos Park. After nearly a century, McCord House Cultural Center, Children’s Farm at The Center, the quaint Plush Horse Ice Cream Parlor, Mill Creek and more than 10,000 acres of green space known as the Palos Preserve continue to serve as popular attractions.

With a rich history of its own and a resume that includes ranking among Money magazine’s  “America’s Top 100 Best Places to Live” in 2006 and 2008, Orland Park has much to offer to Peace Village residents and visitors. The village boasts more than 600 acres of recreational spaces and one of the most extensive lists of places to shop and dine than one could ever request. In all, more than 70 malls, plazas and lifestyle centers make Orland Park a shopper’s dream. From groceries to hardware, fashion to gifts… the question asked most often is not what to buy, but where to begin.

Palos Heights

commun_3aFrom its name to its designation as an official Tree City, the City of Palos Heights personifies peaceful serenity and beauty. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2009, Palos Heights has managed to retain and improve upon its original rustic nature, emerging as a modern, residential community in a rural setting. A number of excellent restaurants and specialty shops can be found along Harlem Avenue, College Drive and 127th Street in Palos Heights. Churches, recreational amenities such as Lake Katherine Nature Center and Botanic Garden, and outstanding health care providers, including Palos Community Hospital, combine to make Palos Heights a valuable part of the Peace Village community.

Location. Location. Location.

Other outstanding communities, including Lemont, Palos Hills and Tinley Park are within a short drive of Peace Village – but with Palos Park, Orland Park and Palos Heights at their doorstep, its no wonder so many current residents have called Peace Village home since it was established in 1989.

For more information on the unlimited amenities our location provides, visit the reception desk on the main level in the Commons Building or call Peace Village at 708-361-3683.
